These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of kenjilopezalt.com and shop.kenjilopezalt.com (together, the "Services"), operated by Kenji Lopez-Alt LLC. By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Use of the Services

You may use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes only, unless otherwise agreed in writing. You agree not to misuse the Services, interfere with their operation, or attempt to access them using a method other than the interface we provide.

All recipes, articles, photography, video, text, trademarks, logos, images, graphics, and other original content on the Services (the "Content") is created by or licensed to Kenji Lopez-Alt LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted below, you may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the Content without prior written permission.

  • Personal use: you may view, print, or share a reasonable excerpt of a single recipe for personal, non-commercial use, provided you credit Kenji Lopez-Alt and link back to the original page.

  • No commercial or bulk reuse (e.g., compiling recipes into a cookbook, app, or another paid product) is permitted without a separate license.

  • Trademarks, logos, and brand names appearing on the Services may not be used without our prior written consent.

3. User Submissions

If you submit comments, reviews, photos, or other content to the Services, you grant Kenji Lopez-Alt LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and reproduce that submission in connection with operating and promoting the Services. You represent that you have the right to grant this license.

4. Accounts

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

5. Third-Party Links and Affiliate Content

The Services may contain links to third-party websites and affiliate or sponsored content. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party websites or services. If you access a third-party website from our Site, you do so at your own risk and you understand that these Terms and our Privacy Policy do not apply to your use of such sites. You acknowledge that we have no liability arising from your use of any third-party website or services or third-party content, or from your posting of any third-party links.   • Recipes, cooking instructions, and any nutritional or dietary information are provided for general informational purposes only and are not medical or dietary advice. Always use safe food-handling practices and consult a qualified professional regarding allergies, dietary restrictions, or health conditions.

  • The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

  • We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither Kenji Lopez-Alt LLC nor its affiliates or subsidiaries or any of their respective shareholders, directors, officers, directors, employees, agents or licensors. will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. The foregoing limitations will apply even if the above stated remedy fails of its essential purpose. If any applicable authority holds any portion of this section or other sections of these Terms, including any portion of the Privacy Policy, to be unenforceable, then those portions deemed unenforceable shall be severed and the Terms shall be enforced absent those provisions and any liability to us will be limited to the fullest possible extent permitted by applicable law.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Kenji Lopez-Alt LLC harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (i) your misuse of the Services or violation of these Terms; (ii) your violation of any third party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right; or (iii) any claim that any user content submitted by you causes damage to a third party. This defense and indemnification obligation will survive these Terms and your use of our Site.

9. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site and the Services (in full or in part) if: (i) you have breached any provision of these Terms or any other agreement referenced herein; (ii)  we are required to do so by law (e.g., where the provision of the Services is, or becomes, unlawful); or (iii) you use the Site or the Services for any unauthorized, fraudulent, abusive or illegal activity. You agree that all terminations for cause shall be made in our sole discretion and that we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any termination in accordance with this Section 11. In addition to suspending or terminating your access to the Site or the Services, we reserve the right to take appropriate legal action, including without limitation pursuing civil, criminal or injunctive redress. Even after your right to use the Site and Services is terminated, these Terms will remain enforceable against you and unpaid amounts you owe to us for any purchases will remain due.

Terms of Sale

These Terms of Sale govern purchases made through Kenji Lopez-Alt Shop at shop.kenjilopezalt.com, in addition to the general Terms of Use.

1. Order Acceptance

Your order is an offer to purchase. We may accept or decline any order for any reason, including suspected fraud, unavailability of a product, or an error in pricing or product description. If we cancel an order after payment has been captured, we will issue a full refund.

2. Pricing

  • All prices are listed in USD unless otherwise noted, and do not include applicable sales tax, duties, or Import Charges for international orders.

  • We make reasonable efforts to ensure pricing accuracy, but errors may occur. If a product's listed price is incorrect due to a typographical, technical, or pricing error, we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund any payment made, or to contact you to confirm whether you'd like to proceed at the correct price.

  • We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed.

3. Payment

Payment is processed at the time of purchase through our third-party payment processor(s). By submitting payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.

4. Order Cancellation

You may request cancellation of an item by emailing shop@kenjilopezalt.com. We will attempt to support your request. Once an order has entered production, it is subject to our Return & Refund Policy rather than cancellation.

5. Product Descriptions

We attempt to describe and display products, including cookware and kitchen tools, as accurately as possible, but we do not warrant that product descriptions, images, or other content are accurate, complete, or error-free.

6. Title and Risk of Loss

Title and risk of loss for products pass to you upon our delivery to the shipping carrier, except where applicable consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

7. Governing Law

These Terms of Sale are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, consistent with the governing law provision in our Terms of Use.
